What is a Cancer Diseases ?

Cancer is a complex group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells in the body. Normally, cells grow, divide, and die in a regulated manner. However, in cancer, this process is disrupted, leading to excessive cell growth and the formation of tumors. These tumors can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous), with malignant tumors capable of invading nearby tissues and spreading to other parts of the body through the bloodstream or lymphatic system.

There are many types of cancer, each affecting different body parts, such as breast, lung, skin, and blood (leukemia). The exact cause of cancer is often unknown, but risk factors include genetic mutations, environmental exposures, lifestyle choices, and infections. Early detection and treatment, including surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, are crucial in managing cancer. Advances in medical research continue to improve cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survival rates.
